“Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, ‘Arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you.’ So, Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord.” (Jonah 3:1 NASB)
This is your Monday Short meditation. Of course, you know the story of Jonah and how he did not do what God wanted him to do the first time; did not go to Ninevah. And I am sure you also know that consequently, because of his refusal to obey God, he ended up having to endure an unpleasant consequence, spending three days and three nights in the belly of a great fish. His situation moved him to pray, repent, and to petition for divine rescue.
As you read above, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh again a second time. You also read, “So Jonah got up and went.
My first question for you, my friend, is “What is God telling you to do…again?” My second question for you to answer is “What unpleasant or unwanted consequences are you experiencing because you didn’t do as He said the first time?” Only you know the answer to these two inquiries. So, how will you respond? Have a great start to the week! Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
The Lord is asking me to rejoice and share the word… I have become better at inviting others to visit virtually. I’m able to preface that with how good God has been to me. This is always a great motivator for me in these situations. If only I could use that same motivation when sharing that same testimony with others to introduce them to Christ.
Perfect response and reminder of how we should always be! Be blessed!
Had to take my shoes off for this one! Ouch! But definitely needed. Thank you Dr Mark! Thank Gid for His “agains”. They help us get better.
We probably all have to take our shoes off. Thank you for your response. Be blessed!
