Listen to this story! One of a father’s boys, at the age of 5, could not sleep peacefully without his very first pillow, small and rectangular in size, the pillow that he laid his head on soon after birth. Another one the father’s boys would not sleep without the stuffed brown bear that seemed humongous when the child was tiny. At the age of 6, this once seemingly humongous bear was barely met, in the eyes of the child, the standard for a small pillow. But that bear never missed a night sleep in the son’s twin sized, warm and comfortable bed. Another one of the father’s sons had the mere edging from a newborn pillow, a minute remnant of his very first blanket, and at the age of 8, all was gone except a piece that was no longer than 3 inches in length. But he still held on to it, just for a little while longer. A pillow, a bear, and a blanket! Oh my! But let’s not rush to be too critical. For you see, as you can imagine, each one of these items brought comfort, security, and rest.
Now, many years later, these little boys are grown men, each successful in their perspective fields. They no longer need the pillow, the bear, or the blanket for security. They have something better. They have the Lord. Does He give them security? Of course! Does He give them comfort? Heavens yes! Can they rest in Him? You better believe it!
Speaking of rest, tomorrow is intended to be a day of rest, and even more important, it is the Lord’s Day. So, I suggest that you find yourself in His special presence at your place of worship; the place where they worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. As my pastor would probably say, “I promise you that you will find all you need to be secure.” Make sure you make it there! Be blessed!

What a cute visual imagining these three young men taking comfort and feeling secure each with their own items. I too, feel comfort and security in my Savior, Jesus the Christ; the One Who redeemed me; the One Who shelters me; and the One I can always call on when I need Him. I plan to visit the house of the Lord tomorrow to show Him how grateful I am.
Yes, you have Jesus! Prayerfully these three young men find their ultimate security in Him. Be blessed!
