“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” (Lamentation 3:22-23 NLT)
Do you remember those special days when you got up and rushed to see if there was a special gift waiting for you under the tree, on top of the table, or somewhere in your room that was so easy to see? Do you remember the smile on your face that stretched so far that in today’s world, it was expanded so wide that all could see it peeking outside of your required facial mask. Your heart was beating rapidly, your haste to investigate where the gift was placed was obvious to anyone who saw you hustling at what seemed like hyper-speed, and honestly, neither the heat nor cold of the day was on your mind. You wanted to see the gift that was waiting for you on your special day, on your Christmas morning, your birthday, your wedding anniversary, your one month of being in a “committed,” the “It’s gonna last forever” type of relationship with your newly found bro or bae, or perhaps it was on some other special day that I failed to mention.
Hopefully today was one of those special days for you. No, let me rephrase or re-state was I just said. Today is definitely, absolutely one of those special days for you. And as soon as you awakened, you should have quickly discovered the gift that was waiting for you. Now do not pretend, shaking your head, putting a puzzled look on your face, and do not put your hand on your chin and start wondering just where is the gift that I am talking about.
Thursday night, the person who leads our Deacon Board sent me a poster that reminded me that every day is a gift from God; every day that we are blessed to be in the land of the living is a blessing from the Lord! So if you are reading this or if you are listening while someone reads this to you; regardless of your posture, predicament, or physical condition, you have been given yet another gift today. It was waiting for you and it was right there and no need to search anywhere to find it. It was obviously personal; your name was all over it! So grin, gratefully rejoice, of course be glad! Enjoy your Saturday and delight in your brand spanking new gift! Every day is truly a gift from God. Be blessed!
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NKJV)
Still committed to the climb,
