“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26 ESV)
The way I would answer the question posed in the title above is as follows: is to find joy in the Lord.” Let me expound on my answer. You can find joy in the fact that the Lord is, and not only that He is, but He is your heavenly Father. Find joy in the fact that He can supply all your needs! You can find joy in the Lord that His love for you is so great, I mean really great, so great that He sent His only begotten Son to give His life for you and me, believers, on an old rugged cross so we can escape the wages of sin that is death. Keep reading! Find joy in remembering the numerous times that the Lord has delivered you, directed you down a better path, and discarded your sins as far as the east is from the west when you confessed your wrongdoings and repented, thus giving you yet chance after chance after chance.
You know I could go on writing about finding joy in the Lord and how that will help us find strength, but instead of me going on, this is what I want you to do. Take a piece of paper and see how many reasons you can list that relate to you personally finding joy in the Lord and consequently more strength.
After doing this exercise, my friend, make a commitment to start meditating on those reasons you just listed and find new joy in the Lord every day this week. You can make another list next week. Listen! When you do, you will be stronger spiritually. Now, I am assuming that your answer to the questions, “Do you want to gain more strength spiritually?” is “Yes!
I’m done, but here is some additional good news for you! When you are stronger spiritually, you will be able successfully face (1) troubling emotional issues, (2) tough temptations, (3) turbulent times. (4) ton-heavy relationship problems, (5) testy trials, (6) terrifying changes that come with the fact that there is a time for everything, and (7) twisted social challenges.
Hopefully the opening and closing verses are helpful. Have a great day! Be blessed!
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:29 ESV)
