ESSENTIALLY OR EXCEPTIONALLY

“Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.” (I Corinthians 11:1 Christian Standard Bible)

Some people or copycats, individuals who want to essentially wear or act in such a way that is modeled before them and therefore get social approval. There are others who prefer to be different, exceptionally unique, and might be thought of as trendsetters when it comes for fashion or behavioral traits.

I have some helpful, excellent tips for both those who want to essentially follow a leading light as their model, and well for those who want to be exceptionally different. For the “essentially,” read the Apostle Paul’s inspired words in the verse above. For you who are set on falling into the “exceptionally” category, look at inspired words of Peter in the verses below. Be blessed!

“And the Scriptures also say, ‘He is the Stone that some will stumble over, and the Rock that will make them fall.’ They will stumble because they will not listen to God’s Word nor obey it, and so this punishment must follow—that they will fall. But you are not like that, for you have been chosen by God himself—you are priests of the King, you are holy and pure, you are God’s very own—all this so that you may show to others how God called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (I Peter 2:8-9 The Living Bible)

Committed to the climb,

  1. Great words of wisdom. I need to go both ways: I want to model and follow after Christ; yet, carve the path to obtain my unique calling.
