“Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them. “(2 Timothy 2:1 The Living Bible)
The month of October brings back memories of a time that I suffered a fall at a medical facility due to a sudden vertigo attack. Somehow, even though I don’t recall my actions, I was informed that I drove my dizzy self to my home and eventually took myself to a near northside hospital. I know it was October because I had worn my fourth oldest son’s college letterman’s jacket to work for our costume dress up day. It is still hanging in my closet, but no way I’m putting it on in October.
At the hospital I was checked in for observation. It was discovered that during my fall I had what they called a brain bleed. The doctors put some type of things on my head to absorb the blood. It felt like I had on some of those old wire curlers that women use to wear before the softer version was invented. They might have even felt like the first type of curlers ever! Well, as I laid in my bed that night, waiting for a room, only a sheer curtain separated me from the nurse’s station. Irritated by the “curlers,” I slowly took them off, one at a time, trying not to let the night nurse on duty see what I was doing. That did not work! The nurse was either close enough or loud enough that I could hear him clearly ratting me out, telling the doctor on duty what I had done. For my betterment, safety, and healing, the nurse wanted to help save me from more serious physical consequences, So, his internal instinct must have said to him in an urgent tone, “Get the doctor!” The doctor came and put the “curlers” back on my head. Because of the nurse calling the doctor, I got better.
Now put my story ahead and let’s focus on somebody you know who is doing exactly what they should not be doing, just like I did in the hospital. For that “somebody,” do like the nurse and call the Doctor! Your intervening prayer can be the key in getting that person back to where they should be, and that being the somebody you know following the instructions of “The Doctor” who never lost a patient. Call the doctor, right now! You might help someone get back in alignment with the will of God.
Get to praying, right now! Have a great Wednesday! Be blessed!
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16n King James Version)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
The Doctor is needed in all situations no matter how big or how small. Call the Doctor than never lost a case.
I agree! We need “The Doctor” in all situations. No one is exempt, for we all have some more perfect progress to make; still have to strive for perfection and we can achieve excellence with the help of “The Doctor.” Thank Doctor King. I’m blessed that in spite of reading and reviewing research papers and approving foundation agendas, you take time to respond daily. Now … be blessed!
