“You have an unmistakable identity; a child of God.” (Rev. M.R. King)
I know, its only Tuesday morning, earlier than usual, for a Sunday Share, but this is exactly what it is, and it is timely. As Pastor M.R. King, started a five-part series, he read the following text. Take the time to read it, even if you have visited this passage before.
“After He was baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and [settling on Him, and behold, a voice from the heavens said, ‘This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’ Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, He [a]then became hungry. And the tempter came and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But He answered and said, ‘It is written: ‘” Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took Him along into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and he said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written: “He will give His angels orders concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will lift You up, So that You do not strike Your foot against a stone.”’ Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written: “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test’” ’Again, the devil took Him along to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.’Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go away, Satan! For it is written: “You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.”’ Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to serve Him.” (Matthew 3:16-4:11 NASB)
Pastor’s first words were, “You have an unmistakable identity; a child of God.” He continued with some real-life, everyday examples where we show real concern, urgent concern, about any encounter we have with identity theft. Undisputably, Pastor stated with undeniable faith, “Satan does not have the power to takeaway who you are.” He let us know that the devil has been trying to hack in the fact that we were created in God’s image since Genesis. In other words, he will try to steal your identity.
But remember your identity! You are a child of God, one who has been redeemed, one who has been set apart, a member of a holy nation and a royal priesthood, the light of the world, the salt of the earth, a disciple of Christ, and much more, but certainly you are a witness for Jesus. This week, make it a point to protect your identity! Read Pastor’s entire sermon on the Salt Of The Earth Church (Indianapolis) Facebook page. Hear the Lord speak to you as His messenger expounds on the fact that (1) Your identity is declared by God, (2) Your identity Will Be Challenged by the Enemy, and (3) Your identity must be defended by the Word of God.
As pastor said, “We are using the wrong playlist when our there is an attempt to mess with out identity.” I took away that we need to make sure we are equipped with the word so that every time “the hacker,” the devil, tries to steal our identity, we can pull out the right response from the word of God.
Have a great day and by all means, watch out for the hacker and protect your identity. You can do it! Be blessed!
Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:13-17 NIV)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
My worth doesn’t depend on my success or mistakes.“You are precious and honored in my sight.” –Isaiah 43:4
Keep those thoughts! They are helpful in keeping your identity! Thanks for your response LT! Be blessed!
It’s a good reminder to stay vigilant, watching for the hacker that tries to devour you and steal your identity. I know that I am His and will fight and pray, using the word as my armour. Trust and obey, there’s no other way…I will trust Jesus to protect me against the hacker.
I like how you personally reflect on the meditation and respond, not only in words, but in real commitment. Be blessed!
