NO PLASTICITY OR HIGH STIFFNESS THIS WEEK!

“The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” (Genesis 2:15-17 NLT)

I should have called my Aunt Lucille, a famous sculptor, scientist, and surely one who falls into the category labeled pertinent hidden figures of the past, and simultaneously, labeled as a renown, recognized person in this country, as history is still being made. But since I didn’t make the call, I’ll try my best to compose this Monday Short meditation based on what I could find online. Here is what I found: “In pottery, clay that is hard to work with is often described by its low plasticity or high stiffness. This can happen with certain clay bodies or when the clay is overfired or underfired.”  The overfired clay has been fried, but so much that it can’t be worked with properly. The underfired clay lacks maturity.

Let me make a point using a parable type style like Jesus. The believer who thinks he has enough teaching and preaching, refuses to yield to the hands of the Potter is like the overfired clay. The Christian who has not matured progressively as a child of God can be likened to the underfired clay.

My suggestion to you, on this Monday morning, is that you avoid reflecting low plasticity or high stiffness this week. Let the Potter mold you and shape you. No, you may not always recognize what God is doing, but keep the faith. You know my saying, “You don’t know what God is doing until He is done!’ Let the Potter have His way! Be blessed!
