“And the Scriptures also say, “He is the Stone that some will stumble over, and the Rock that will make them fall.” They will stumble because they will not listen to God’s Word nor obey it, and so this punishment must follow—that they will fall. But you are not like that, for you have been chosen by God himself—you are priests of the King, you are holy and pure, you are God’s very own—all this so that you may show to others how God called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (2 Peter 2:8-9 The Living Bible)
Sometimes you will find that you are not comfortable around certain people, certain places, or even in certain predicaments. Do you want to know why? Because you are different! There will be times when you don’t fit in with the crowd. Do you want to know why? Because you are different! You recently assessed that some of the people who called themselves your friend, did meet your standard for a true friend; did not act like your best Friend, the One who is perfect and sets your principles and priorities for living and the One who sticks closer to you then a brother. You made that assessment because you are different.
Being different you do like the passage above states. You show others how God called you out of darkness into the marvelous light. You want to know something? Let’s be honest about it! You are even different than you were before you gave your life to Christ. Being different in this respect, it is a good thing.
Some folks who claim to be one of the faithful, will find an excuse not to attend church today. But not you? Why? Because you are different! Enjoy worship! Be blessed!
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper. But for sinners, what a different story! They blow away like chaff before the wind. They are not safe on Judgment Day; they shall not stand among the godly. For the Lord watches over all the plans and paths of godly men, but the paths of the godless lead to doom.” (Psalm 1:1-6 The Living Bible)

Sometimes I forget that I am different because I am His. I didn’t always recognize why I didn’t fit in; because I’m different. Glory to God in the highest.
