SHORTEST SERMON IN HISTORY!

Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he cried out and said, ‘Forty more days, and Nineveh will be overthrown.’” (Jonah 3:4 NASB)

The shortest sermon in history is found in the scripture above, eight words preached by Jonah, “Forty more days, and Nineveh will be overthrown.” Now, I cannot promise you that the specific message that God will send by His specific messenger tomorrow will be shorter than Jonah’s sermon. And I cannot say that when you hear the words, “I won’t be long,” spoken from the pulpit that the message will be as brief as Jonah’s message sent for a specific purpose.

However, I think I am going to preach a word right now that is shorter that Jonah’s sermon. Here’s my four-word sermon: “Go to church tomorrow!”  Be blessed!

“Some people have stopped meeting with the group of Christians. But that is not good. We should all continue to meet together. We need to help one another to be strong and brave. That is now even more important, because the Lord’s great day is coming. You know that the Lord will return soon.” (Hebrews 10:25 Easy-to-Read Bible)
