THE REVEAL

For years I have spoken on the principle that says that the number of kilowatts of stress that go into your mind must be matched by an equal number of kilowatts coming out to remain balanced. Hopefully, the kilowatts that come out are positive and not negative. Be on guard for displacement, distinctly sinful outlets, delighting self in overeating or even dragging someone else down so you can feel up.

Well, enough for a simple psychoanalytical principle. There is another principle that I would like to speak about this morning through the words I am about to share with you. The principle: If you expose your children to Biblical teachings, the knowledge gained will reside in their minds, available for referencing to in the future. Parents, grandparents, and great grandparents, remember this principle and adhere to your responsivity to teach your children. Note: I went beyond naming parents because somewhere I heard, “It takes a village to raise child.”

Here is a true story to support the principle described in the paragraph above. Two brothers, one a preschooler and one a kindergartener, are taking their bath on Sunday night. Their mother likes to spray them down with the shower head at the end of the bath. It just so happened on this particular day that the water was a little bit too hot for the kindergartner’s liking. So, he complained, stating, “This is the fiery furnace.” Smile! Laugh! But also recognize that the reading of little Bible stories at bedtime is profitable. The kindergartner remembered the story about the three Hebrew boys cast in the furnace and he pulled out an excerpt that was stored in his mind.  “This is the fiery furnace.” I might add that just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, the little boys came out unharmed. It’s a true story and truly something we can call “The Reveal.”

One more thing, my friend. When you go through what seems like a fiery furnace in life, know that just like the three Hebrew boys, the preschooler, and the kindergartner, if you trust in God, you will come out of your furnace with no harm. Look with optimism for “The Reveal!”  Have a great day! Be blessed!
