When a youngster that you are raising or mentoring asks you for help, you will drop what you are doing and provide the help that is needed. Even though it delayed the completion of what you were working on, time was not a problem. You receive a call from a close friend whose freezer went out, just a day after he had stocked it full, with enough meat to feed a small army. You are on your way home. You have planned your evening. Your personal schedule was noted on your things to do list and you even indicated when you would get it done. Your mindset is, “No time for anything that is not on my list.” But when your friend calls and asks would you want some of the steaks and ribs that would go to ruin by the time his new freezer is delivered, you make an exception. Time is not a problem at that moment! Other things can wait. You are the 20th caller on the customer service line, waiting to inform your provider that your cable is not working. You have the option of a requesting a call back without loosing your place. Do you take it? Nah! You would rather take your chances, even if it may mean holding the phone to your ear for 17 or more minutes. Time is not a problem when you have a desire to get something important as your cable fixed before the game of the year or your weekly soap opera is coming on. And what about those times in the past where she/he, someone you really liked, asked if you had time to come over her/his house? You had planned to do something else important, but was time an issue them? Nah! Time was not a problem.
You know where I’m leading to already on this Sunday morning, don’t you? This is the day where we set aside an hour or two, less than one percent or perchance a little over 1% of all the hours in the week to worship the Lord! Our frame of mind automatically must ascribe to the belief that time is not a problem when it is time to worship the Lord. Think this way. Time is not a problem – when it comes to blessing the One who has blessed you and kept you all through the week that just passed! Time is not a problem – when it comes to gathering together with the saints of God at your local church, face-to-face or virtually, for you know you should not forsake the assembly of the saints. Time is not a problem – when you know the Almighty will send you an appropriate message, a specific message, a message that contains something specifically for you for a special purpose this morning. Time is not a problem – when it comes to being in the special presence of the Lord! Time is not a problem – when you realize where your help comes from and you recognize where you could have been if the Lord were not on your side. Time is not – a problem when you readjust your thinking to focus on the goodness of God. Time is not a problem – when you have your predicament, and must petition Heaven for His power! Fill in the blanks below in your mind to make this meditation personal and certainly profitable:
- Time is not a problem, when I think about how God _________________________________________.
- Time is not a problem, when I think of how God showed me mercy when I _______________________.
- Time is not a problem, when I consider the times I was struggling with ___________________________, but the Lord graciously saw me through that struggle.
Now, right now, time should not be a problem as you get ready to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. This is true for you and it is true for me. No excuses are accepted! Go and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Be blessed!
