DOES LIFE LEAD TO TRUTH?

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NLT)

I was drinking coffee and watching a news broadcast when a message, written in white on a black background came across the screen.  It was a quote of something published in a major city newspaper, “Life Needs Truth.”  The ad immediately caught my attention and I started to contemplate on the meaning of the statement from a spiritual perspective.  While the advertisement was intended to justify the need for the truth being reported by journalist in order that we can navigate through life, I was thinking about another truth, “The Truth.”  My God-conscious antenna went up immediately!

I was thinking about the verse above and if I simply defer to one of my granddaughter’s response to her Sunday School teacher’s inquiries when she was a teenager, I can state the answer to the question in today’s title.  You see she answered nearly every theological question posed by her Sunday School teacher with one answer, “Jesus.” So, I will use her response to reply to “Does Life Lead to Truth,” and to identify the best way to navigate through life with her one-word retort and just say, “Jesus.”  It worked for me and it continues to work for me, and it will work for you.

Does life lead to truth?  Yes, since it is true that for all believers and for those who shall believe, there is a point in time where we realize in the course of living, due to the fact that no other remedy, no other raised theories, nor any other reactionary prescriptions to our issues and inescapable trials can give us the best help, we arrived or shall arrive at the point where we know we need Jesus.  Does life lead to truth? Yes! Life’s mistakes will eventually, hopefully, lead us to “The Truth,” Jesus.  Life does need truth, “The Truth.”  Unrealized happiness in life will again, eventually, hopefully, lead us to “The Truth,” Jesus who will become the center of our joy, regardless of the happenings in life.  Life does need truth, “The Truth.” Looking for dependable, definitely true advice, and direction in this life in all aspects of living, will eventually, hopefully, lead us to “The Truth,” Jesus, the answer for the world today.  Life does need truth, “The Truth.”

Before I let you get your Saturday started and as you stare ahead into Sunday, looking eagerly to attend worship service, let me tell you the added double bonus that you should share with someone who has not come to Jesus yet. Share, knowing that you can help “eventually” happen sooner for someone unsaved by sharing “The Truth.”  Share, knowing that you can help get rid of “hopefully” as used in the paragraph above and help someone replace that word with a new word, “assuredly.” How so? You do so by revealing this twofold bonus.  When life needs the truth; when leads to “The Truth;” when life leads to Jesus, life comes with two words the precede the word “life.” Those words are “abundant” and “everlasting.” See the verses below for validation.  And after you are finished, immediately send this out to somebody before you leave today!  Be one of Jesus’ helpers right now! Go ye therefore with your advanced technological communication devices immediately!  Look we have a pandemic, but we have been blessed with perfect tool during this crisis. You don’t have to travel from Jerusalem to Antioch or Asia Minor, like the Apostle Paul.  You don’t have to go door to door today jeopardizing your safety during this health crisis. You can stay seated right where you are and forward this meditation to others.  Don’t procrastinate or hesitate.  Help someone navigate through life or suggest, by means of the words above exactly why someone is having difficulty in navigating through life.  Somebody needs the truth!  Somebody you know, he and/or she, needs Jesus!  Be blessed!

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trust in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost, but have eternal (everlasting) life.” (John 3: 16 Amplified Bible)

“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10b Amplified Bible.)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
