YOUR VERY FIRST STEPS

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4 NIV)

This is your Monday Short meditation. Hopefully it will get you stepping off in the right way and it will carry you through this entire week as you run the race that God has set before us. You probably don’t remember your very first steps as an infant, but here are some steps I want you to remember as you go run on, with your eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

First Step: Consider it pure joy when you face test of your faith this week. Rejoice because you can make it!  Second Step: Look towards the end result! That being the perseverance produced, and not the predicament you must get plough through. Third Step: Look ahead, knowing that when perseverance finishes its work, you will be mature and truly complete.

Now, my friend, run on through this marathon called the work week and remove anything that will slow you down or cause you to stop running this Christian race with confidence and victory in every step you take! Be blessed!

“Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 The Living Bible)

Committed to the climb,
