“The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.” (Proverbs 15:39 The Berean Standard Bible)
Making international calls, calls to a distant place, can be challenging due to a mix of technical, procedural, and regulatory factors. In searching the Internet, I found that it could take a long time, just as in the case I just described above. These factors include the following: poor audio quality or connection failures, wrong dialing format or codes that block calls, carriers requiring an international calling application to be activated, knowing how to avoid high costs roaming charges, device network settings, and country regulatory issues.
Here is the situation, the scene, and the summarized story. Three well-educated persons; highly esteemed individuals with over eight years of post-graduate college education, supplemented by a numerous number of years of corporate training, were trying to establish contact with a young man that had just relocated from the Midwest region of the United States of America to Japan. The trio of individuals started combing their intellectual capabilities and in-depth technical abilities on a Wednesday night by means of a virtual connection. After spending some time trying to figure out how to use a certain cellphone application, they decided to meet in person the next morning. After a little over an hour, the team of erudite friends were able to successfully set-up the application to make a call to Japan.
This is true in most cases, but there is one place where making a call to a distant land can be immediate. There is no waiting. There is no wasting of time. There is no wringing of hands. There is no weariness that can frustrate you. Where is this place? The place is called Heaven, more specifically the gracious throne of God. You can call the Lord anytime and He will hear your prayer right away. To be fair, I need to tell you that there is one criterion you must meet. You must be one of the righteous. This righteousness is imputed, in other words, it is credited to believers through faith in Jesus Christ.
I am assuming that you, my dear reader, are one of the righteous. So, if you have not already done so today, don’t forget to make the call. Don’t forget to pray! Have a great Tuesday! Be blessed!
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 Berean Standard Bible)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
I love this scenario. It was comical and you had to be there to understand how it is humorous. The good news is that this exact same scenario can be applied to our call to Jesus. We are never alone and we can always count on Him.
Bo, never alone! He hears us when we call and He answers accordingly and appropriately. Give Him the glory and the praise He is due. Be blessed!
