“The word of the Lord which came to Hosea the son of Beeri, during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “Go, take for yourself a wife inclined to infidelity, and children of infidelity; for the land commits flagrant infidelity, abandoning the Lord. “So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.” (Hosea 1:1-3 NASB)
The verses above reveal that God works in mysterious ways and, wait a minute, I’m not done, He also works in masterful ways. Amen! What He tells us to do may not match our being, but believe that He is Sovereign and He has a purpose for every plan He initiates. If you have studied The Book of Hosea, you know that two of the majors themes are (1) God’s takes faithfulness serious, and (2) Unfaithfulness has its consequences. There is a lot more to take away from an in-depth study of Hosea. But this morning, I want you to look at the words in bold print in the passage above, for these words construct the formula for a wonderful Wednesday.
The Lord God says to Hosea, “Go.” The text says that in response to the word of God, Hosea “went.” Did you see it? Did you see the formula that’s going to make your day wonderful? I hope so! Make it personal! If the Spirit of the Lord speaks to you and says, “Go” and forgive somebody, let it be said that you “went.” If the Holy Spirit says, “Go” and walk away from what could elevate into a major conflict with another, let it be said that you “went.” If the Lord tells you that you have to “Go” and be a better witness today than you were yesterday, let it be said that you “went.” If the Lord says, “Go” and do your job well, meeting or exceeding expectations, let it be said that you “went.” If the Lord says, “Go” back to the day where you never missed church on Sunday, let it be said of you when the Lord’s Day comes, that you “went.” If the Lord says, “Go” change your priorities so that He is not overlooked, let it be said of you that after considering your ways, you “went.”
God knows you! He loves you! He has plans for you, even on this Wednesday. So, when He tells you to “Go” in one way or the other, let it be said that you “went.” Be blessed!

What a wonderful way to start my Wednesday; another day that the Lord has allowed me to see. I will make a joyful noise unto the Lord and when He says, “Go!”, I want to let it be said that I went. Where He leads me, I will follow. Thanks be to God for this wonderful Wednesday.
